I'd only ever heard good things about Bayview Bakery, which usually means a place has been oversold before you get there.
Not this time. Every positive thing I'd heard turned out to be accurate, and then some.
You get the smell first — an assortment of aromas that do most of the selling before anyone says a word. Then a genuinely welcoming smile from behind the counter.
It's a small place. That's part of it.
Danishes, and they were excellent. Very reasonably priced too — honestly, I'd have paid significantly more and walked out just as happy.
That's an unusual thing to be able to say about a bakery. Most of the time the value calculation runs the other direction.
Check the days. This is the important one. They're open Thursday through Sunday, 9 AM to 3 PM — closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Show up on a Tuesday morning expecting pastry and you'll be disappointed for no good reason.
Parking is easy, right next to the park. You'll cross the street to get to the bakery, but traffic is minimal and there are plenty of crosswalks.
$1–10 per person. Take out.
The Sunday hours overlap with the New Baltimore Farmers Market, and they're a short walk apart. Market, bakery, waterfront — that's most of a good morning without moving your car.
Highly recommend. Go try one of everything.
36355 Front St Unit A, New Baltimore, MI 48047
Hours: Thursday–Sunday 9 AM–3 PM · Closed Monday–Wednesday
Price: $1–10 per person · Free parking lot nearby
No catch. Nobody paid me, nobody asked me, and nobody comped me anything. Writing reviews is a hobby of mine — I've been doing it a lot longer than I've been putting them on my own site. I went, I liked it, and I think good business deserves a good review.
I'm Jon Petrous. I run Jpetrous Creative Services out of Casco — branding, websites, and marketing for local businesses across Macomb and St. Clair County. Writing reviews is the hobby. Helping places like this one get found is the job. If you're running a business and the second part sounds useful, I'm around.
