Ad Spend & Account Ownership Policy
Jpetrous Creative Services LLC (“JpCS”)
Last Updated: October 28, 2026
Whose money pays for advertising, whose account it runs in, who owns the data it produces, and what happens to all of it when an engagement ends. This policy supplements the Terms and Conditions and the Client Access & Credentials Policy.
This policy applies to any engagement in which JpCS plans, builds, or manages paid advertising on your behalf — including Meta, Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, TikTok, programmatic display, streaming audio or video, and any other platform where media is bought.
Advertising runs in an account owned by you, under your business name, with you as the owner. JpCS works inside it as an invited partner or agency, not as the account holder.
This is not a formality. An agency-owned ad account means that when the relationship ends you lose the account, its history, its optimization, its pixel data, and its audiences, and you start from zero somewhere else. We do not build that dependency, and we would advise against accepting it from anyone.
Where you have no account yet, we will set one up in your name and under your ownership as part of onboarding, and show you where to find it.
Your advertising budget is paid by you, directly to the advertising platform, on your own payment method attached to your own account. It does not pass through JpCS.
We do not front your spend, we do not invoice you for it and pay it onward, and we do not add a percentage to it. What the platform charges you is what you pay. You can see it, in full, in your own billing section, without asking us for a report.
JpCS invoices a management fee for the work of planning, building, writing, designing, monitoring, and reporting on campaigns. That fee is set out in your quote or Service Agreement and is separate from, and unaffected by, how much you choose to spend.
Pausing or reducing spend does not reduce the management fee for a period already underway, because the work of managing a campaign does not scale down in step with its budget.
Budgets are set by you in writing and we work within them. We will not raise a daily or lifetime budget, launch an additional campaign, or extend a flight beyond its agreed end date without your approval.
Where a platform spends slightly above or below a daily figure across a period — which most of them do by design — that is the platform’s pacing, not a change we have made. Where we recommend a budget change, we will say what we expect it to achieve and leave the decision with you.
We can promise the work: research, build, creative, monitoring, optimization, and honest reporting. We cannot promise a result, and nobody who buys media on an auction platform can.
Cost per click, cost per lead, reach, conversion rate, and return on ad spend are outcomes of an auction we do not control, against competitors we do not control, in a market we do not control, interpreted by an algorithm that changes without notice. Anyone guaranteeing you a specific number is either guessing or managing it down behind your back. Our reporting shows you what happened, including when it did not work.
Tracking pixels, conversion events, server-side integrations, custom audiences, lookalike audiences, and the performance history built up over an engagement live in your account and belong to you. They remain in place, under your ownership, after we are gone.
Where we install tracking on your website, we will tell you what is installed and where. Data collected about your customers through your advertising accounts is yours, and its use is subject to the privacy terms of the platform and to applicable law.
Advertising platforms approve, reject, and restrict at their own discretion, often without a usable explanation. An ad can be disapproved, a campaign paused, or an account restricted for reasons that are automated, inconsistent, and not appealable in any practical sense.
Where that happens we will work the problem — rewrite, resubmit, appeal, and escalate where there is an escalation path. We cannot guarantee reinstatement, and a platform’s decision about your account is not something JpCS is liable for. Where an account is restricted for conduct or claims outside our control, the remedy is usually yours to pursue with the platform directly.
You are responsible for the truth of claims made about your own business, products, pricing, qualifications, and results. We will write and design to what you tell us, and we will flag a claim that looks likely to attract a platform rejection or a regulator’s attention — but we are not in a position to verify it.
Some categories carry additional platform rules or legal obligations, including housing, employment, credit, health, firearms, alcohol, cannabis, gambling, political and issue advertising, and anything aimed at minors. If your advertising touches one of these, say so at the quoting stage. Where a category requires certification, disclaimers, or restricted targeting, meeting that requirement is a shared task and the underlying obligation is yours.
Reporting cadence is set in your Service Agreement. Reports draw on the platform’s own numbers, which are the platform’s to define and to revise; figures can move retroactively as attribution settles, and different platforms will credit the same sale to themselves. We report what the platforms say, note where they disagree, and tell you which number we would actually trust.
You can see the same data we see, in your own account, at any time.
When a paid media engagement ends:
There is no exit fee, no data held back, and no requirement to keep working with us to retain access to your own account.
Where paid media management is provided as donated or traded work, this policy applies in full, and the spend remains the client’s own regardless of how the management is being paid for. See the Pro Bono Policy and the Trade Work Policy.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, indicated by the “Last Updated” date above. Material changes affecting an active engagement will be communicated directly.
